Successive combination jet algorithm for hadron collisions.
Jet finding algorithms, as they are used in ee and hadron collisions, are reviewed and compared. It is suggested that a successive combination style algorithm, similar to that used in ee physics, might be useful also in hadron collisions, where cone style algorithms have been used previously. 12.38.Bx, 13.87.-a Typeset using REVTEX
متن کاملComparisons of New Jet Clustering Algorithms for Hadron-Hadron Collisions
We investigate a modification of the k⊥-clustering jet algorithm for hadronhadron collisions, analogous to the “Cambridge” algorithm recently proposed for e+e− annihilation, in which pairs of objects that are close in angle are combined preferentially. This has the effect of building jets from the inside out, with the aim of reducing the amount of the underlying event incorporated into them. We...
متن کاملDiffractive jet production in lepton-hadron collisions
We study jet final states in diffractive deep-inelastic scattering. We present the QCD factorization formula in terms of diffractive parton distributions and discuss its implementation in NLO Monte Carlo generators. We compute NLO predictions for the diffractive jet cross section. We use this calculational framework to discuss theoretical models of the long-distance behavior.
متن کاملJet Shapes in Hadron Collisions: Higher Orders, Resummation and Hadronization
The jet shape is a simple measure of how widely a jet’s energy is spread. At present jet shape distributions have only been calculated to leading order in perturbative QCD. In this paper we consider how much these predictions should be affected by higher order perturbative corrections, by resummation of enhanced corrections to all orders, and by (power-suppressed) nonperturbative corrections. W...
متن کاملJet cross sections in polarized photon–hadron collisions
We present a computation of oneand two-jet cross sections in polarized photon– hadron collisions, which is accurate to next-to-leading order in QCD. Our results can be used to compute photoproduction cross sections in electron–proton scattering. To this purpose, we investigate the structure of the polarized Weizsäcker–Williams function, where we include a universal, non-logarithmic term, neglec...
